What Makes This Different From a Regular Speed Test
Most free speed test tools, including Google PageSpeed Insights itself, only score your page as it exists right now. This test goes a step further: it actually optimizes your page first, on BerqWP’s own server, using the same BerqWP Premium optimizations, converting images to WebP, generating critical CSS, and optimizing CSS and JavaScript delivery, then runs that already-optimized version through Google PageSpeed and shows you the real result. You get a genuine before-and-after PageSpeed score for both mobile and desktop, plus a live, expandable preview of what the optimized version of your page actually looks like.
What Happens When You Run the Test
After you enter your URL, BerqWP optimizes your page on its own server and then scores the result, shown through five steps as it runs:
- Testing your URL with Google PageSpeed
- Converting your images to WebP format
- Generating critical CSS for your page
- Optimizing your CSS and JavaScript
- Completing the scan
This typically takes one to two minutes. This feature currently runs in Beta, so results reflect a strong, real optimization of your specific site, though as with any Beta feature, treat the exact numbers as a preview rather than a final guarantee.
How to Read Your Results
Once the scan finishes, you’ll see separate scores for mobile and desktop, since Google scores these differently and most Core Web Vitals thresholds are mobile-first. Alongside the score, you can expand a live preview of the optimized version of your page to see what actually changed, not just a number, the real result.
What If My Site Already Uses a Caching Plugin?
If your site is already running a caching or optimization plugin, the test respects that setup first, then applies BerqWP’s own optimization on top of it. You’re not getting an artificially inflated comparison against an unoptimized version of your site, the result reflects what BerqWP can still improve even on a site that’s already partially optimized.
